A thoughtful, individualized approach

Joy Yue Pu takes a trauma-informed and multicultural approach to counseling, drawing from Person-Centered Therapy, Existential Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and body awareness to support children, adolescents, young adults, adults, older adults, and families.

Yue works collaboratively with clients to understand how past experiences and current circumstances shape their thoughts, emotions, relationships, and everyday struggles. Her work supports healing while helping clients discover their strengths, deepen their sense of self, develop practical skills, and move toward meaningful change.

Education and experience

Joy Yue is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northeastern Illinois University. Her professional background spans finance and technology, education, and wellness, where she has worked with executives, students, and clients navigating health-related challenges.

These experiences have shaped Yue’s understanding of the personal, professional, relational, and life challenges people face. She supports clients in developing practical strategies and skills, building self-awareness, and discovering their strengths and potential.

Her goal is to help clients develop greater self-empowerment and resilience, create meaningful and lasting change, and discover a life that feels genuinely fulfilling and meaningful to them.
