About Nyzera

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor. I received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a minor in Juvenile Justice from Missouri Southern State University and a master’s degree in social work from Loyola University Chicago. I work full time as Program Manager for a violence reduction initiative.

I worked on behavioral management and mental health residential care for both youth and adults. Short of 5 years, I worked for the Cook County Department of Corrections (CCDOC), first as a behavioral health specialist in the Office of Mental Health Policy and Advocacy, and later as a program manager. I have worked as a crisis counselor for Weiss Memorial, Community First Medical Center, and St. Anthony emergency room.

I have experience in providing both group and individual therapy for those who experience substance use, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and co-occurring disorders.
I am passionate about empowering under-represented individuals to have an equal voice in decision making processes that affect their lives, to enhance their overall well-being.

Nyzera can work with individuals, couples and families. She is experienced working with adolescents through adulthood. Nyzera offers both telehealth and in person sessions.
