Who am I?
Hello, I am Andrea Mandrapa, a mental health counselor in training enrolled at Concordia Chicago University pursuing my Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate degree. I have experience in working with children and adolescents who experience various medical, behavioral, and mental needs. While interning at Bellosa Counseling, I am currently working at Lurie Children’s Hospital in the inpatient psychiatry unit as a milieu therapist and overseeing various diagnoses in children and adolescents. My approach focuses on helping clients achieve their goals, be a support, and learn healthy ways to cope with their feelings. Within my therapy approach, I will utilize concepts from Person-Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my sessions. I believe that everyone has the potential to live a fulfilling life, I’m passionate about helping my clients feel safe in an empathetic and non-judgmental space. I believe providing a safe therapeutic environment will allow clients to grow and navigate through difficult thoughts and emotions. In my free time, I enjoy baking cake pops and going on runs when the weather is nice. If you’re looking for a therapist who can help overcome your challenges, I would love to work with you!
